Carole Middleton

Carole is Service Manager for Nutrition and Dietetics and Adult Speech and Language Therapy in Oxfordshire UK. She manages the services provided in all hospitals and community premises across the county. The Dietetic Department has more than 40 Clinical Dietitians and is also responsible for the training of Dietetic students. Her own clinical expertise is in liver disease, critical care and bariatric surgery.

Carole has had a long involvement with the British Dietetic Association, holding many positions, including Honorary Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer and sitting on a wide range of committees. As Chairman, she represented the BDA on the Department of Health Nutrition Task Force. She is currently the BDA representative and a Director for the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations (ICDA) and has recently become the BDA representative on the Executive Committee of EFAD. She has contributed to the production of the EFAD report " Education Programmes and Work of Dietitians in the Member States of EFAD". She is also a member of the BDAs Ethical and Professional Advisory Panel. Carole became a Fellow of the British Dietetic Association in 1993.

In 1997 Carole received the honour of becoming a Member of the British Empire, in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, for services to Dietetics.
